  • James Madison as peresident.
  • James Madison was in a conflict about what to do about the war of 1812. what side should he go to? one part of the U.S. says France but the other says Britain. He would do what George Washington said and to stay neutral.
  • What should I do about the war of 1812?
  • Impressment and Native American Resistance.
  • During this time, Britain would capture American ships and the sailors because America would not side with them. British started to give Native Americans weapons to help try to stop America From expanding west.
  • Come with me!
  • Oliver Hazard Perry was the commander of the navy for America. They battled for two hours and all of American ships. But at the end he was on a row boat with some others and still fought and eventually beat the British.
  • Battels in the Great Lakes/ Canada
  • We did it!!
  • After Britain defeated France they went all out on america. The British blockaded the east coast and went to Washington and tried to burn down the White House. When Francis Scott watched the fight between America and Britain He created a poem called the "The star spangled banner" witch is our national anthem.

  • The British attacked New Orleans to cut off America to use Mississippi. Andrew Jackson was the commander. There were more British soldiers that passed away then American.
  • we attacked America to get control of The Mississippi river.
  • The effects of the war were the increased american patrionism. It weakend Native american ressistance, also U.S. manufacturing grew so this was the start of the industrial revolution.
