Storyboard Text

  • Adams leaves 17 judge commissions for Jefferson to give to the judges
  • My term is coming to an end, and I'm still not done with these commissions to send to my new Judges. Ah, ill let Jefferson finish it.
  • Jefferson doesn't give the commissions.
  • HA! Adams expects me to do this and support these federalist judges?
  • In the trash they go.
  • Marbury becomes very upset and sues Madison for not giving him his commission.
  • There not here? How could they not be here? It's Madison, that idiot didn't give me what is rightfully mine! I'll sue him for every penny he owns.
  • Under the new presidents orders you cannot force us to make him a judge.
  • The president cannot deny my right given to me by President Adams to be a Judge.
  • Please state your case
  • Judge goes away to create a verdict. Both parties are upset and ready for an end. Madison is pretty comfortable.
  • The Judge will be back with a verdict soon.
  • Judge rules in favor of Madison because judge has no jurisdiction in such area. Marbury should have gone through lower courts.
  • We rule in favor of Madison, he cannot force you to give it to him
