Because of the Kinetic Molecular Theory, we need more space to move about. That means that we need to expand to meet our space requirements at this temperature.
We are being heated up! We need more room to bounce around! We need more space!
Now we are a good distance away from each other. We are very happy.
Now that the temperature is cooling, we are too far apart! We're lonely! Lets try to come together. Oh no! The balloon is blocking the air from coming in! The volume is too big! We will have to suck the balloon in to have the perfect amount of room. The pressure inside is too little
The other air molecules on the outside are helping us push the balloon in. They want the pressure to be equal too. See how the balloon is squeezing in the neck of the flask? That means that the volume on the inside is decreasing and we are feeling more comfortable.
Yay! The pressure is the same now! The other air molecules are sooo strong! They pushed a balloon in!
