  • When the Embargo act of 1807 was passed, it stopped all trading with France and England, Jefferson thought that this would stop the impresssment of there crew. instead thousand lost there jobs. that act was repealed.

  • After France and Britain lying to America, people were sick and tired an wanted a war between England. And so they were given one finally. Later as America declares war on Britain, Britain announces that they respect Americas neutrality and would like to begin trading again. But it was already to late.

  • The war of 1812 was mostly fought by the navy, commanding the 12 american ships we had was Oliver Hazard Perry. The commanders ship battled the British for 2 hours when it eventually sank, but Perry rowed in a row boat and continued the fight and beat the British back to Canada.

  • The British defeat the french and use all there power to bring down america. Blockading the Americas all around. The British bombard Fort McHenery, as this happened Francis Scott key wrote the famous song. The star spangled banner, now our national anthem.

  • James Madison sent Andrew Jackson to command the battle of new Orleans, and was very successful. having only 71 american casualties and 2,000 British casualty
