  • Phase 2- Burning of Washington D.C. and Fort McHenry
  • Some of the causes of the war of 1812 was having Britain getting the Native Americans to be their allies. Also what provoked us to go into war was the impressment of our America sailors.
  • Phase 3- Battle of New Orleans
  • This is too easy :)
  • Oliver Hazard Perry was in charge of the navy at lake Erie. After the battle at Lake Erie British forces retreated into Canada. William Henry Harrison later defeated the British and claims to have killed Tecumseh, the leader of the Native Americans.
  • Effects Of The War
  • We've learned to make stuff on our own now!
  • August of 1814 Britain marched into Washington D.C. and burned down the white house. Later they attacked Fort McHenry and once Francis Scott Key saw the american flag still hanging he was inspired to write the Star Spangled Banner.
  • The Battle of New Orleans was an easy win for the Americans. America wiped out tons of British men and only lost a few of their. This win was so easy because they were on high ground, making it easy to shoot downward at British soldiers.
  • After the war was ended in a truce, the effects of the war resulted in increase in manufacturing. During the war America had to learn to make their own goods which lead to a growth in manufacturing. This starts the beginning of the Industrial Revolution.
