  • Impressment and Native American Resistance
  • Let's become allies and defeat Americans together!!
  • Phase 1: Naval Battles and Battle of Thames
  • I am Oliver H. Perry, leader of the U.S. navy in Lake Eerie.
  • Madison was the 4th president of the U.S., he served from 1808-1816.
  • Phase 2: Burning of Washington D.C. and Fort McHenry
  • Britain became allies with the Indians so they had more people on American land. Tecumseh is the leader of the Indians. The British gave teh Indians guns to attackt he Americans with. British men also were messing with the American trade ships.
  • Phase 3: Battle of New Orleans
  • JACKSON!! JACKSON!! JACKSON!! JACKSON!! JACKSON!! JACKSON!! THE WAR HERO!!
  • Harrison defeated the British at the Battle of Thames and Tecumseh, leader of the Indians died.
  • Effects of the War of 1812
  • The British marched Washington D.C. and burned the city and the White House. They also took over Fort McHenry and many militiamen protected the fort and an American flag flew over the fort.
  • Jackson wiped out 2,00 British soldiers when America was definitely outnumbered and we only lost 71 soldiers. Jackson became a war hero of the Battle of New Orleans.
  • Nationalism (pride in one's country) grew enormously in America after the War of 1812. Indians didn't settle in the Ohio River Valley anymore, so this opened up that area for expansion. The Industrial Revolution occurred after this war and America gained power and respect on a worldwide scale. A secret Federalist meeting was held that discussed them seceding from the U.S.
