  • Here, Madison is giving his first presidential speech in front of the white house. He has became president after Jefferson and has walked into a very difficult situation with French and British conflicts
  • President James Madison
  • As Americans move into western territory, natives resist with British arms.
  • British impress American sailors trading with France to the British Navy.
  • We won!
  • War Begins
  • The British advance in the Great Lakes Area, but the Americans successfully defend the land. Phase 1 of the war.
  • The British attack Fort McHenry, and a Francis Scott Key took what he witnesses, and wrote a poem which today is the U.S. National Anthem. Phase 2 of the war.
  • "Oh say, can you see?"
  • Epic Conclusions
  • Andrew Jackson leads the U.S. army in battle at New Orleans, and becomes a famous war hero. Phase 3 of the war.
  • We don't need them!
  • America Rules!
  • So, what?
  • Well, after the war the Americans were more proud of their nation. Also people became less dependent on Europe and started manufacturing more goods to be self dependent. This started the Industrial Revolution.
