  • power is the theme in this play. For example when Creon made a law that no one shall bury polynices, he used his power to make that law and expects every one to obey it . Lines 522-524
  • Sir we the people would like to set a horse race in the honor of king of the horses who died, may we have your blessing?
  • Another example of power is when Antigone is trying to bury her brother. She is showing power because she is disobeying the rule and showing she does.
  • Race!!!
  • I said no horse race in this kingdom!!! who ever who was involved shall be punished!!
  • The last example is when haemon kills himself after he finds Antigone dead in a cave. He had to have had power in order to follow through with this action.
  • Yall shall bring me every sing person included in the horse races they will be punished.
  • Faith and free will the people are asking for a horse race to honor the king of the horses who died and its his anniversary.
  • No! no one shall have a horse race in this kingdom.
  • In faith and free will, that the king wont be mad they have the horse race instead.
  • Faith and free will, because of their actions the king decides to punish them.
  • Yes sir
