  • Hello, my name is Mckenzie Burney. I am in 3rd period Physical Science. Today I am teaching you about acceleration. 3/20/17
  • What is acceleration? Acceleration is a vehicle´s capacity to gain speed
  • What is acceleration? Acceleration is the capacity to gain speed within a short period of time.
  • As you see there is two race cars ready to go. When they take off they will be almost going full speed, but after a few seconds they will hit top speed.
  • Both cars have took off and already the orange car is way ahead because it reach its top speed quicker than the blue car
  • The moon travels at a constant speed in its orbit. But it also falls constantly towards Earth's surface. The force of Earth's gravity acts on the moon not to change its speed but to change the direction in which it is traveling
  • Galileo watched objects as they rolled down a inclination or hill. He created mathematical equations that demonstrated how the speed of the objects increased as they continued to roll down. The equations that he came up with were the first ideas of what is called accelerated motion.
