  • Jaya who is king of Mahapura, and Tamar play a game of aksha.
  • Chapters 7 and 8
  • Tamar woke up sprawled on the carpet with cards and dice scattered. Tamar then noticed the ring on his finger. Rajaswami, Darshan, counselors and attendants, were just as confused . Tamar was sure of what had happened, but others around him weren't.
  • Chapter 11
  • "My dharma tells me it's better to look for a way to live instead of die. It also tells me to stay with the one I love."
  • Tamar had set journey and followed his dharma to seek Jaya. Along the way he came across many issues. One being that he had to face a king named Shesha in water. While at the same time had a crowd of women laughing at him.
  • As Tamar continued his journey, instead of passing the river and then turn off, circle around, and double back to the kurma, he went through the river. Both Tamar and the monkey got stuck in vines oozing with juice. Mirri was able to help them escape with a tug of a rope
  • At the choosing, Mirri left. Later Tamar asked why, there was no reason for her to stay because she had already chosen Tamar. Tamar then Told her to go back to her village.
  • "Yes. Live out your life happily, not with one who has no life to give you. Follow your own dharma."
