  • Russia in WWI
  • There's a war?! I'll go grab my army.....actually I don't have one.
  • The February Revolution 1917
  • Hey, come back here!
  • You have no power over me!
  • Bolshevik Revolution/October Revolution 1917
  • Political power is now mine and the Bolsheviks!
  • Out of all the nations involved in WWI Russia was the most ill prepared out of all of them. They focused on industrialization rather than militarism. Within the first year they had over 4 million casualties. They lost 15% of their total population by the end of WWI.
  • Russian Civil War 1918-1919
  • Czar Nicholas abdicated his throne. The Duma is re-established and is placed in charge of ruling Russia. The Duma has no real power though and is unable to rule the vast area that is Russia.
  • Industrial & Agricultural Reforms of Stalin 1928
  • All of this is mine now!!! We shall industrialize!
  • Lead by Vladimir Lenin the Bolsheviks are able to organize and seize political power in Russia. They quickly eliminate the ownership of private property and also make peace with Germany.
  • Stalin's Purges 1934
  • Go get them! They are trying to take my place!
  • Sir, yes sir!
  • It was between the Red's and the White's. The Red's were loyal to the Bolsheviks and the White's were Czarists. The Red's kill Czar Nicholas II and defeat the white army. Lenin remains in power.
  • That was a fight, but we remain in power!!!
  • Lenin died in 1924 and Joseph Stalin takes power. Stalin moves toward Totalitarianism. He rapidly industrializes with high unrealistic demands. State owned farms replace private one's.
  • Joseph Stalin notices people trying to take his power. So, he decides to start purges. He instructed his men to kill anyone in the government that threatened his power.
