This storyboard does not have a description.
"Like most shortcuts, it was an ill-chosen route." The tone throughout most of the story is dark and mostly negative, thus giving the environment in this panel.
"He reposed himself for some time on the trunk of a fallen hemlock..." The word choice mostly defines to stingy and dirty, thus wood can constantly get dirty and it can also symbolize the down tone as well.
"Let that skull alone," said a gruff voice. This whole story is literally having Tom meet the Devil, so skulls seem to fir the imagery nicely.
I mainly chose this because the style of the book can really be interperated by the reader more than the author.
"Let all griping money brokers lay this story to heart" I think the theme is really that "power corrupts" and "the richest people are the ones with a heart of gold"
"The Devil and Tom Walker" compares a lot of the ideas that everyone is equal in the start, much like The Crucible. Tom shows us that when you try to improve yourself without realizing the consequences really can take a toll towards your beliefs and your actions.
