The first phase of the water cycle is the water still in its river, ocean, or lake.
Next, the sun will evaporate, which means to turn the water into a gas.
The gas that is evaporated by the sun now forms groups of the same gas which are called clouds. This is called condensation.
The clouds will keep forming together until the cloud gets too heavy. When the cloud gets too heavy, the water that evaporated to make the cloud will fall out which is rain.
The puddles on the ground that were caused by the rain will either evaporate or will slide downhill back into the river, ocean, or lake.
And then once the water gets back into the river, ocean, or lake, the process/cycle will start all over again.
