  • “ Why women wear smiles” by Amy Cunningham shows that women use the smiles on there face to depict how they are feeling about a certain situation. During this entire narrative she focuses on the fact the women should not smile for everyone occasion because that shows weakness and doesn't reflect every mood.

  • In "Who shot Johnny by, Debra Dickerson., an African -American college student attends Harvard in the mid 1950s. Her nephew is shot and left paralyzed from the waist down. As she describes his recovery process she makes cultural connections with the aspects of the society surrounding them. Debra claims that there are many in her community which give her people a bad reputation.
