  • The narrator talks to the reader and he tries to convince the reader that he is NOT mad. He also speaks of the old mans eye and how it terrifies him.
  • Rising action
  • HAHAHA

  • The conflict of the story is that the narrator is terrified by the old mans "vulture eye" so much that he decided that he wanted to get rid of the eye by killing the old man.
  • I killed the old man! His body is under the planks!
  • Resolution
  • The narrator decides to watch the old man while he sleeps to observe and plot how he is going to murder him
  • The narrator decides to kill the old man by pulling the heavy mattress. This rids the narrator from the eye forever.
  • The narrator decides to confess to his crime because he believes he heard the heart beat of the old man even though he was dead
  • The police take the narrator to jail where he is going to stay for along time.
