  • Do you want to see a hiding place?
  • On December 6, 1973 it was snowing and Susie took a shortcut from the corn field to her house, when Mr. Harvey saw her and asked if she want to see a hiding place. Not wanting to be rude to an elder, Susie decided to say yes.
  • Mr.Harvey took Susie into the under ground hiding place. Susie was nervous, so Mr. Harvey made her comfortable. When she tried to leave, he grabbed hold of her and raped and murdered her. Then he threw her body out which he has gruesomely cut up. What Mr. Harvey had not notice was that Susie had left behind her yellow hat which her mother had made her as a present.
  • After Susie not arrive home in hours, Mr. and Mrs. Salmon call the police and say that their daughter is missing. A few days later they get an knock on the door from a detective named Len. He was there to inform them the police had found an elbow and to ask if the yellow hat they found was Susie's. That was when Mr. and Mrs. Salmon realized Susie was dead.
  • While in heaven Susie gets to watch her sister grow up , get married and have a child. She also got to she her baby brother grow up. During this time, her grandfather and family dog die, and end up meeting her in heaven.
  • Mr. Harvey returns back to Pennsylvania and tries to hurt another teenage girl but she flees. Ruth an old friend of Susie sees Mr. Harvey and the ghost of all the girls he murdered. She calls the police and tells them Mr. Harvey is standing outside of his old house.
  • With Ruth's call, Detective Len puts the pieces together and they find out that Mr. Harvey was Susie's killer and goes to tell Mr. and Mrs. Salmon. During this time in another scene, Mr. Harvey is killed by an icicle that falls on him. This is when Susie can finally go up to the higher heaven and no longer needs to sends clues about Mr. Harvey, her killer.
