  • No! Hush and listen to me. I am a man.
  • Coyotito gets stung by a scorpion so Kino and Juana take him to the doctor's house, but he says he won't cure him unless they have money. They don't have any type of way to pay so they go to find a pearl so they can pay for the medication.
  • Falling Action: Regretful and Mournful
  • As Kino dives into the water in hope of him finding the pearl, fortunately for him he finally does. It was a very big pearl hence given the name "The Pearl Of The World". After finding this he finally could pay for the medication and all his dreams could come true by being rich. After time passed by everyone in the small town already knew about it.
  • Resolution: Ashamed and Pessimistic
  • As Juana kept warning Kino that the pearl is evil, she kept being ignored so in response she went to throw it away. Kino beat up Juana and as a man tried to steal the pearl from him he killed him and lost the pearl. Juana then finds the pearl and they find out the house is on fire and everyone thought that they were in the house dead.
  • Get rid of the pearl, it is evil!
  • Kino and Juana tried to run away from their home town, but when they are in the way to go to the capital they see that there is a group of three men following them. So Kino plans to go after them when they sleep, steal the rifle and shoots them. But when he does go there Coyotito starts crying and the men thought it was an animal so they shot him. Afterwards Kino killed all of the three men.
  • It isn't really known what happened after the unfortunate event in the mountain but it is said that Juana and Kino returned to the town, ashamed and regretful. Everyone looked at them in disgust and as they finally got convinced that the pearl is evil and has brought bad luck they decided to throw it away in the water as it slowly passed down to the soft sand.
