Storyboard Text

  • I hate you, George Washington! I'm going to start exhibiting extreme, destructive behaviors that may put my peers at risk!
  • Uh oh! It appears that one of my students is very upset, and beginning to display extreme, and aggressive behaviors! After ensuring that the other students and I are safe, I will practice active listening in order to validate this student's concerns. Hopefully, once she has had the opportunity to calm down, we can address the issue in a more reasonable manner.
  • Five minutes later...
  • George Washington validated my feelings, and also conveyed that my behavior was threatening and destructive. Now I'm ready to address the issue in a calm, and rational manner!
