The Sinking of the Lusitania and Unrestricted Submarine Warfare
The Sussex Pledge
US Entrys WWI
The Germans sink the Lusitania, a British ship carrying over 100 Americans on the ship. This was an example of unrestricted submarine warfare declared from Germany.
The Sussex Pledge was where Germans said that they would terminate attacks on passenger vessels; however they didn't keep this policy all along.
The constant breach of the Germans words and the killing of US civilians eventually lead to the US involvement of the WWI.
