  • El Salador is a small country in South America. It lies on the Pacific Coast
  • In 1821 El Salvador declared its independence from Spain.
  • I am a great land owner. Coffee is my biggest export.
  • As coffee plantations grew many farmers had to endure starvation and extreme poverty
  • I am so tired and hungry
  • You work for me now and do as I say.
  • In 1929 a financial crisis caused a slump in the price of coffee. Peasant farmers starved which resulted in protests.
  • 30000 of our people were killed in a few weeks.
  • After the uprising of 1929 military regimes were created. Many people died because they wanted civil rights which they didn't get.
  • El Salvador became a very corrupt place to live. The military murdered, beat and imprisoned the poor people.
  • Isn't it great to have wealth and riches.
