Storyboard Text

  • Native Knowledge Box
  • Did you know... The Mississipian culture was big on farming. They grew squash, beans, maize, tobacco and more. They had cheifdoms, religous mounds and ballisades. There farming tools and weapons were made out of stone and wood.
  • Me and my fellow Mississippian Indians have gotten nothing but sick ever since those Gods came riding in.
  • European Exploration Of Georgia
  • I don't have any gold. Me and my friends have been living here in harmony since 800 A.D.
  • Im Hernando de Soto, the 1st Europeon to discover parts of Georgia. Give me all your gold.!
  • Little did John Raulph know that Jamestown would contribute to founding a future state known as Georgia. It would soon become a buffer colony. What is that you might ask? A buffer colony is a colony that acts as a neutral zone or barrier.
  • English Colonization
  • Fear not for I brought the cash crop tobacco.
  • John Raulph from England, save my people in the colony of Jamestown from starvation.
  • Our kind was the first to encounter them... They came trampling into the village, our village. What were they exactly? Your guess is as good as mine. Many people say that they are gods. Others say that they are monsters. Could they be both? Either way I fear for my tribe. For everday people are getting struck by sickness, bullets, arrows and worst of all fear.
  • Hernando de Soto was in search of one thing and one thing only, gold! He would crush anything or anyone on this wild adventure starting with the Mississippian Native Americans.
  • For the colony of Jamestown I have the honor of getting to give you the great gift which is tobacco. This gift, this great gift of mine I had to steal which goes one hundred and fifty percent against who I was. I always knew it was my destiny to do something, something that the world would remember me for.
