  • DNA              RNA     Protein
  • The process to make a protein is shown below...
  • This strand of DNA is in the Nucleus
  • The strand of DNA unzipes and the code is read and then the enzymes makes a transcribed copy of the unzipped strand.
  • Transcribed copy of mRNA
  • After the DNA is transcribed to make mRNA, the mRNA then leaves the nucleus.
  • mRNA
  • The tRNA brings in the amino acids which pairs up with the complementery mRNA
  • This mRNa left the nucleus to find a ribosome
  • Protein
  • The end result of translation is the final protein product. 
  • If there are mistakes in the process of transcription or translation then there will be mutations which are caused by an incorrect protein.
