They later on slowly became more than friends, and Todd was scared for her behalf. He tried getting her to quit as she slowly took them on a daily basis to feel relaxed and not think, but it didn’t work. His last result was to call a therapist.
The therapist went to Alana’s house, so Alana had to explain the situation to her parents. The truth, and they all started crying and were mad at her for being irresponsible but for the most part sad and were comforting Alana. The therapist suggested Inpatient Rehab Treatment, and gave her a phone number to call.
They called the treatment facility and scheduled her to stay there until she sustains complete abstinence.
The facility was focused on comfort and privacy, which made her feel good. It was an environment completely opposite to the one that led her to get addicted. She also got counselling and therapy to see how she’s feeling.
They analysed her and found that she had rapid mood swings, violent temper outburst, constant headaches, impaired memory, and would socially isolate herself from other people inside of the facility. She also vomited a few times.
This was extremely difficult because it was at the point of addiction where long term effects started to occur and she was physically depend on the depressant and would die if she was completely off the drug. So, little by little, day by day, she had less and less and started to recover.
