Storyboard Text

  • World War One started in 1914 and Austria declared war on Serbia. The main causes of the war is militarism, alliances, and nationalism. Russia was dragged into World War One by Nicholas the second fatal decision. This war help revealed the weakness of czarist rule.
  • The civil war happened in 1918 through 1920. The war was about the Red and White army fighting for power. During the war about 14 million died and there was a lot of chaos going on. At the end the Red army won.
  • There was a chaotic massacre known as the Bloody Sunday. There was 200,000 protesters marching through St. Pertersburg. They wanted better working conditions, freedom, and elected national legislature. During 1905 in October more freedom was promised by Nicholas the second.
  • During the late 1800's a war broke out between Russia and Japan. They were fighting for control of Korea and Marchia . Japan and Russia signed an agreement about the territories but, Russia decided to break the agreement. This led to a revolt in the midst of war. At the end of the war Russia has lost and Japan took full control.
  • On March 1917 textile women marched for their rights. After the women marched,the next five days a riot flared up over the shortage of fuel and bread. During the riot they yelled "Down with the autocracy " and "Down with the war"! There was 200,000 people who protested.
  • Bolshevik is a group of revolutions led by Lenin. As the leader Lenin distribute all farmland among the peasants and gave full control to the works of the factories. A treaty was signed to end war with Germany in March 1918 . The treaty was "Treaty of Brest". It was about giveing up there territory to Germany
