  • Indian Rebellion-1857 1894-Gandhi drafts first petition protesting 1896-Marathi scholar Bal Bangadhar Tilak, demands complete independence from Britian 1909-Gandhi and Manganlal demanded for better working conditions and abolition (S. Africa)

  • 1876- Queen Victoria proclaimed empress of India 1907-Railway companies were expanding and taken over by the Government 1913-New Law prohibits Indian immigration to S. Africa

  • 1920-Gandhi creates Satyagraba, "firmness in truth" 1928- Jawahafal Nehru drafts a plan for a free India 1947- Establishment of India as independent
