  • Avoid water activities in warm, freshwater during periods of high temperatures and low water levels

  • If someone feels the symptoms of nausea, vomiting, headache, Stiff neck, Loss of balance etc they should immediately consult a doctor for diagnosis. At an early stage treatment is possible

He has also created a page for the awareness about brain eating amoeba and the prevention measures. He also started uploading awareness videos, pictures and messages on social media because he does not want anyone else to go through the same experience.

  • There is a parasite “neagleriaflowri” also known as brain eating amoeba, which infects the person by eating the person’s brain and entering the brain through the nose. Adam has a disease called naegleriasis, also known as primary amoebic meningoencephalitis (PAM) because of this parasite. The Symptoms start appearing within 2-10 days
  • But the good thing in Adam’s case is that he is in the hospital. If a patient is not brought to the hospital on time it can lead to death.He will get an antifungal treatment,with this treatment his condition will stabilise
  • Adam survived because of the earlier diagnosis and proper treatment
