The topic is about death of narrator.Death is a gentleman, who offers her a ride. The tone in this poem is when Emily talks about death is respectful. He''Death'' sound like a friendly and good companions.The tone is introspective and supernatural.Death is personified as a man who give her ride toward eternity ,because "i could not stop for death he kindly stop for me..the carriage held but just ourselves and immortality" is an example of personification because death cannot stop or wait for her. she describe death as polite man.
