  • FIRE ALARM! Evacuate the building!
  • Whyyy do we have to leaveeee?
  • The fire alarm goes off in the building where you are an RA! You remember that it's just a scheduled drill though... now what?
  • No.
  • Contact Public Safety, unless they already are at the scene. Then go to the office to get keys!
  • So, what's the status of the building? Everyone out?
  • Everyone is present and accounted for, boss!
  • RAs should go to wings/areas, knock on the doors and shout “Fire alarm”
  • Name of RA: Date of Evacuation: Time Alarm went off: Time all residents were out of building: Describe the incident: Was PS called:
  • Key into rooms to make sure residents have evacuated. Advise students that failure to evacuate will result in conduct action. Submit Incident Reports as needed.
  • So, like, I'm kindof in the middle of bingewatching Breaking Bad, can I just stay here?
  • Report to your RHC (or RA who is “in charge”) that the building has been cleared
  • After PS clears the building, residents can re-enter. Submit an Evacuation Report.
