Storyboard Text

  • Hi, I am David and I am the person to keep you informed during blizzard. The blizzard has arrived along with a low pressure system and a occluded front with a cold front following. There is major cloud cover and lots of precipitation.
  • The estimated length of the event will last two to three days. We will continue to communicate news to the news stations via radio because of the possible blackouts. Now lets ask Christine for more information.
  • Blizzard
  • Thanks, David! Well, now it is crucial to stay safe. You can do that by being in a building, always carrying around a first aid kit which includes a flashlight, food, lots of water, and a means to stay warm.
  • Stay inside even if there is an emergency with someone outside, instead of going to help, call 911. You don't want to have to be rescued too!
  • We are communicating with news personnel, meteorologist, your city officials, and other first responders often. We communicate by radio, and if possible phones.
  • The duration of the storm was three days and it is now over! The winds have died down and it is slightly snowing. There is a occluded front followed by a cold front. We are now telling NOAA that we receive 15.5 inches of snow. The highest winds were 16 mph and the temperature was a low of 13 degrees and a high of 34 degrees. We will be back after a commercial break with Christine.
  • Blizzard
  • Now that the storm is over, we will go back to our normal schedule for news updates.
  • Hi, this blizzard has created multiple problems for Maryland and is similar to storm Jonas. Hundreds of people have lost power, their houses have been damaged, and there is lots of snow accumulation to be dealt with. The estimated time for the power outage is one week at most, we are working hard to fix all damage caused by the storm.
  • Construction crews are helping rebuild the city as we speak. The estimated time required for cleanup is over five months. We want to give them lots of time to make our city as good as new.
  • We have communicated with city officials, the media, and the news in meetings to help inform you all about the current condition of the cleanup. They will continue to keep you updated and on top of things.
  • Rescuers are searching for survivors in the high debris areas, they are working fast and trying hard.
