Storyboard Text

  • Nathan Radley
  • late nights
  • discoveries
  • on Dill's last day here we finally went to the radley house. we didn't mean any harm and only planned to peak through the shutters when mr. radley fired a shot at what he said was a "negro." luckily we escaped, but sadly i couldnt scramble fast enough to save my pants and left them in a crumpled mess on the ground
  • Winter
  • late that night i went alone back to the radley house and saw what may have been the craziest thing i've ever seen in my life. the pants i left lying on the ground in a wad were now hung up neatly over the fence... i couldn't tell anyone. not because i was afraid but because i didnt even know if i could believe my own eyes.
  • Christmas Time
  • as the summer ended and school began we continued finding more things in the knot hole. twine, gum, and even small figures carved out of soap. scout didn't think much of it but i feel like it couldn't be anybody other than boo leaving things in the tree for us.
  • joy in tragedy
  • This was the first time scout or i had ever seen snow. it was a great experience, scout and i even built a snowman. Atticus didn't seem to mind too much that we made it and miss Maudie even congratulated us for being able to build one. this great time ended in grief when miss maudie's house burnt down. she lost everything save the rocking chair atticus pulled from the fire.
  • in normal families, the members at least pretend to get along. in mine? not so much. scout fought our younger cousin for calling atticus a "nigger lover"... in her defense i would have done the same thing. Atticus said things would be harder at school but i never thought our own family would hate him too.
  • Mrs. Dubose was probably the meanest old lady ever and i finally lost my temper on her plants in the front yard. she made me a deal that i would have to go to her house every Saturday and read to her until she told me i could leave. I did this for what seemed like years until Atticus gave me the news that she had died. this truly was a joy in tragedy. as terrible as she was i had no idea she was suffering in the way Atticus says she was.
