David Livingstone was born on March 19, 1813 to Neil Livingstone an Agnes Hunter. He was born in Blantyre, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, United Kingdom.
Come on, children! School is starting!
David had to attend night school as a child in order to work in the cotton mills from 6am to 8pm.
In the following years David met and married Mary Moffat in 1845. They preceded to have six children.
Livingstone went on to medical school to become a medical missionary.
Sadly, Mary died in 1862, but Livingstone continued to be a missionary for another eleven years.
An American reporter, Henry Stanley, from New York was sent to find Livingstone. He found him on the shores of Lake Tanganyika in Africa.
Doctor Livingstone, I presume?
Not long after the meeting between Stanley and Livingstone, Livingstone died from Malaria and Dysentery from the dirtied waters in May 1, 1873. He was buried in London, England.
