RISING ACTION: Todd and Viola (the silence) start to run. Aaron, (the town preacher) and the Prentisstown army, are pursuing them. Todd and Viola figure Haven (the largest, and original settlement) will be a safe place for them.
CLIMAX: Todd learns the truth about Prentisstown. Todd is supposed to kill an innocent person in order to become a man. Todd and Viola face Aaron. Turns out, Aaron is the one Todd has to kill. Luckily for Todd, Viola kills Aaron.
FALLING ACTION: Todd carries Viola along the way to Haven. They had just fought and killed with Mr. Prentiss Jr. Viola was injured in the process.
RESOLUTION: Todd notices that Haven is empty, except for Mayor Prentiss (Mr. Prentiss Sr.). Mayor Prentiss tells Todd everyone left because the army was coming. This allows Mayor Prentiss to be the first to confront Todd, as he introduces himself as President Prentiss.
