As you all know, we gather here to discuss about the high taxes and debt.
We demand a stronger central government!
Daniel Shay led Shay's Rebellion. He and the other farmers were tired of not being able to pay off the taxes or major debts. One day Daniel Shay and a group of other angry farmers shut down courts, so they would not be imprisoned, and rebelled against the tax collectors and government.
Due to the powerless Articles of Confederation, government could not do anything about Daniel Shay's Rebellion.
