  • James Madison served as a secretary of state when Jefferson was the president, soon becoming the fourth president. Madison was a loved president serving from 1809-1817.
  • Francis Scott Key and the Bombardment of Forthenry
  • Keep shooting at the fort!
  • English Ships took over American trade ships, stealing the crew for their military. To add on to their military power, they allied them with the Native Americans. Therefor making more problems for the United States.
  • Andrew Jackson War hero and the battle of New Orleans
  • Hold your position!!
  • The Battle in the Great Lakes was a battle on water. A man named Oliver Hazard Perry was bombarded off of his ship, but still fighting, took over another ship with his crew and continued to fight. The battle was won for the United States, capturing 6 ships.
  • Effects of War
  • British soldiers were attacking by sea hoping to lay the fort in ruins, but the fort did not fall. In the attack, a prisoner in one of the British ships was inspired by the act and designed a song. That song is what we know as the star spangled banner.

  • Andrew Jackson lead a force of men, defending in New orleans against the British soldiers. The British soldiers were much high in numbers, but were at a lower point. The American troops used that to their advantage taking over 2000 British troops.
  • During the war we had to make our own things, because the British were at was with us. They manufactured lots of things with us that we would just trade. Also we could not trade with other countries because of British blockades. In a result, we started with manufacturing things our selfs. Starting manufacturing in the United states.
