  • Practices 4
  • "Oh my gosh! What happened?!", said Thomas' mom. "We were at the park and it started to rain", said Jason. Thomas' mom helped the boys into the house and got them dry. They wanted to continue their conversation so they headed to the living room.
  • Practices 5
  • Jason wanted to show them a picture of his uncle. "My uncle is a certain type of Jew. He is a Hasidic Jew, which is why he looks very different. Let me show you guys a picture of him", said Jason. Parpar said, "Wow. I've never seen a Hasidic Jew before. I'm really excited to see!"
  • Beliefs 1
  • "Look guys", said Jason. "I have it right here on my phone. Come take a closer look." Thomas and Parpar leaned in closer to take a look at Jason's uncle. They were very curious to see what he looked like.
  • Beliefs 2
  • "See guys look. This is my uncle Gilbert, he is a Hasidic Jew. He looks very different from anyone else because he has very long sideburns and is noticed as Jewish because of it.", said Jason. "Wow!", exclaimed Parpar. "I didn't expect him to look like that."
  • Thomas decided to talk next about beliefs compared to Judaism and Hinduism. Thomas said, "In Christianity, we believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that because he died, we can pray and have closeness to Him. At church, the priest taught me that Jesus is the messiah."
  • Jason interrupted, "Judaism is kind of the same, except we don't believe that Jesus is the messiah. My dad taught me about most of this. He says that we are still waiting for our messiah. We don't know who it is or when he will come." Parpar asked "Why is that?" Jason responded, "Well I don't know. That's just what my religion believes in."
