  • On Friday, January 3, 1777 in Princeton New Jersey the British and the colonists were fighting.
  • This battle is important because of the victories at Princeton and Trenton made America think they could win.

  • The Colonists ended up winning. This lead to future events because since the Colonists won so they British had lost control of New Jersey and they had to go to New York.

  • After the victories in Princeton and Morristown George Washington's marched to Morristown on January 6, 1777. They stayed there because of the hills surrounding the camp.
  • George Washington spend most of his time in Morristown reorganizing the Continental Army because some had left the army due to not wanting to spend another winter with little supplies.
  • America had an advantage because they were able to see British strongholds leading to Philadelphia. This also helped attract people to become a part of the army.
