Storyboard Text

  • Hamilton VS. Jefferson
  • My plan will make this country ten times better than it already is!
  • The only thing your plan will do is make this country worse and benefit your job.
  • Whiskey Rebellion
  • You can't just start taxing whisky. This will ruin my whole life.
  • Sorry, but this is what is best for the country.
  • The French Revolution
  • We need to help the French because they helped us with our war.
  • We shouldn't help either side. All it will do for us is make us more vulnerable and give us more enemies.
  • I agree with Alexander, we need to protect our own country right now.
  • Hamilton and Jefferson were debating over Hamilton’s financial plan for the new country. The first step of Hamilton’s financial plan was to pay off the country's debt, his second step was to create a national bank, and Hamilton’s final step was to create a national currency instead of each state having their own currency. Jefferson didn’t agree with Hamilton’s plan because it gave the South a disadvantage, and it benefited Alexander Hamilton. This caused a new law to be made that allows the government to make or change laws to better the country.
  • The Whiskey Rebellion was caused by the tax that the government placed on whiskey. The citizens didn’t like the tax placed on the whiskey, and the whiskey farmers became hostile because their profits and businesses were going down hill. The U.S. government thought that this would be a good idea because they needed to place tax on items to pay off their debts. The people had a such big reaction to this because they just fought for their freedom to get away from being taxed by the king and now they were being taxed in their new country.
  • The French Revolution was caused by the same thing that caused the American Revolution, which was Freedom. The people of France were inspired by the Americans to fight for their freedom because they figured if we could do it, then they could do it. Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson had arguments over whether to help or not to help because France helped us with our war, but Washington decided not to help. The U.S. government didn’t want to help either side because they liked both of them so they stayed out of it to avoid making enemies.
