  • The tale begins with a Greek King, Athamas, whose son is nearly killed by his second wife through sacrifice; the prince is saved by a fleece of pure gold, brought to a country called Colchis and is married to loyalty; giving the fleece to the country's king, Æetes.
  • Foresight
  • The prince's nephew became the kingdom's ruler; soon taken by his nephew, Pelias. Athamas's younger son, Jason, was sent away to safety. When the lad has grown up, he sought out to reclaim his kingdom from his cousin.
  • The Country of Colchis
  • Pelias agrees to return the kingdom if Jason is able to acquire a Golden Fleece; to which he accepts not wary off what lies ahead of his journey. Along with noble warriors, they set out on a ship, Agro, to their quest.
  • Ordeal
  • They come across Phineus, a man of foresight who is old of age. As punishment by Zeus, Harpies - creatures of flight - strike down onto his food, leaving him with nothing to eat. Jason and his men help him, and the man gave advice for the dangers before them
  • After the many trials they have faced, the Agronauts set foot on the land of Colchis to which they meet the King - all with the aid of Hera; to her trouble of the dangers that lie ahead, she asks the help of Aphrodite who has Cupid make Medea fall in love with the hero.
  • The king's daughter helps in the retrieval of the Golden Fleece; through the challenges given by her father to Jason and his crew. The oxen, dragon, serpent, and their return home.
