The green knight comes barging into the room where King Arthur and Sir Gawain stating that he wants a challenge.
Sir Gawain states that King Arthur is too important to take the challenge so he decides to accept the Green Knights challenge of taking a swing at his neck with an axe.
Sir Gawain takes a strike at the Green Knights neck and cutting off his head, but the Green Knight picks up his head and continues to talk. He tells Sir Gawain to come find him within a year to return the favor.
As Sir Gawain is going to find the Green Knight, a lady approaches him and tries to seduce him, kisses him and gives him this green sash. She makes him promise not to tell anyone he has it.
"And I, did I flinch when you, fellow, when you swung at my neck? I never spoke a word. My head fell, and I never flinched."
"That belt you're wearing; it's mine my wife gave it to you. I know it all knight , the kisses you took and gave" "For I planned it all, to test you"
