  • On June 28, 1491, Henry VIII was born. Henry was the second Tudor monarch, succeeding his father, Henry VII.
  • The separation of the Church of England and the Roman Catholic Church occurred during his reign.
  • He was also famous for beheading most of his wives and annulling them.
  • Much of Britain,however, became Protestant and Henry did not expect this to happen.

  • Henry earned a lot of money from breaking apart from the Roman church because all of the lands were ruled by him.
  • She should be beheaded...
  • Henry broke apart from the Roman Catholic church because the Pope did not annul him from his marriages.
  • Henry had 6 wives in total! He wished for a son, but his wives couldn't have one and the ones he had, died. Finally, His wife, Jane Seymour, gave birth to Edward VI of England.
  • Henry VII wanted the pope to annul his marriage, but this time, the Pope refused.
  • The Pope excommunicated him, but then he passed the Act of Supremacy. This declared the king to be the head of the church in England instead of the Pope. Later on, it was annulled.
  • Henry VII died at the age of 55 on January 28, 1547. His son Edward VI took the throne and Mary and Elizabeth were next in line.
  • Henry enabled future churches to become Anglican and Protestant.
  • Henry changed many things for England and its church. He liked protestant ideas and wanted England to not be Catholic.
