the summer is over and dill leaves back home and its scouts first time at school and she meets her teacher miss caroline
miss caroline figures out that scout can already read and tells her she can no longer read on her own
everyone is getting ready for lunch and miss caroline noties everyone has a lunch except for walter
miss caroline tries to help him out by buying him lunch by giving him a quarter but he refuses to take it from her
scout tries to explain to miss caroline why walter wont take the quarter so miss aroline takes scouts hand a pops her with a ruler for shaming walter
they were making so much noise the principal came in and yelled at ms caroline embarrassing her so the students leave for lunch scout sees that she sinks her head down into her arms scout would have felt bad for her if she was treated better
