I hear something! Too many to be my men! Looks like nine or ten men...
Let's shout for help. HELP!!!!! HELP!!!! HELP!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!
Who are they?
THEME: Overall, that story is about suspense. Through out the whole story, it uses suspense to draw the reader in.
FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE: Irony - they were fighting each other, but in the end, they are killed by wolves. Personification - "the whistling and skirling of the wind and the restless beating of the branches" Imagery - a deed of nature's violence overwhelmed them.
Naturalism - a style and theory of representation based on the accurate depiction of detail. Ex. a tree falls on them when they were trying to inflict harm on the other.
MISCELLANEOUS: Sometimes violence is never the answer. Like in the story, Georg and Ulrich are enemies and they get hurt by mother nature instead of what they planned. In a big twist, they decide to become friends and they try to help each other out. In the end, they both die. If they had never went looking for each other with intentions to hurt one another, none of this would have happened.
