  • How come she by that light?
  • This shows irony, because Lady Macbeth is afraid of the dark, thats why she always has the light by her side. Before she wanted to be the cruelest person, now she is afraid of the dark.
  • Act V scene I
  • Why, it stood by her. She has light by her continually.'Tis her command.
  • This also shows irony, because in the beginning of the play, when the kill Duncan, Lady Macbeth says, "A little water will get rid of this deed" or something along those lines.
  • Lady Macbeth: Out,damned spot, out, I say! One. Two Why then,'tis time to do 't. Hell is murky. Fie, my lord,fie, a soldier and afeard? What need we fear who knows it, when none can call our power to account? Yet who would have thought the old man to have so much blood in him.

  • This shows repetition of Macbeth's line where the ocean cannot clear this deed. And it carry's out the them of of fair is foul and foul is fair, because she is becoming what was the innocent Macbeth and Macbeth is becoming her in the beginning,
