  • Well here is your place, free of charge. Just remember, you're in my debt now. 
  • The main character has  received a drastic pay cut, along with 100 other employees, and is now distraught because he was evicted from his house.

  • A business man, William Tweed, offers to give the main character some help.

  • The audience gets to see the rundown conditions of the house that Tweed provided to the main character, and should start to question if the house is actually good or not.

  • The main character starts to become happy with what he has been given, and the reader starts to think that maybe the offer was good.
