  • Catalonia is located in northeastern part of Spain. Catalans take up 16 percent of Spains population.
  • Catalonia wants independence and does not want to be apart of Spain anymore. 
  • Francisco Franco wanted to destroy the separatism of Catalonia and killed many people, trying to do that. He then took over the region.
  • Catalonia leaving Spain, would make both Spain and Catalonia suffer economically but it would bring the rest of Spain closer as a country.
  • JOBS
  • Catalonia provides industrial products and export facilities for Spain.
  • Catalonia was going to continue to fight and not back down until they got the independence that they wanted.
  • Government of Spain , comply with and enforce the constitution.
  • Barcelona police attacked polling stations and people and fired rubber bullets at Catalans, trying to stop the vote legitimacy.
  • In the end, Catalonia wanted to be separate from Spain and be their own country but Spain wanted Catalonia be apart of Spain.
