Storyboard Text

  • In Spain 1500 there majority of the population were Catholic believers the catholic church still had a lot of power even after the renaissance. They believed that there was only one god that you could believe in and you should be punished for ever doubting god or studying science.
  • The Catholic religion had many annual holidays that they would celebrate each having a different reason. There was the feast of Mary to celebrate the mother of Jesus and has the month of may named after her. There is also Easter that celebrates Jesus rising from the dead. One of the very well known Catholic holidays is Christmas and it celebrates the birth of baby Jesus.
  • When Jesus was alive it was said that he could make the blind see again and would have lines of people lined up to baptize them and rid there body of evil and the sins that have committed. He had 12 disciples that would travel with him and learn his ways. But one of these disciples betrayed him.
  • At a very well known dinner called the last supper jesus and his disciples were sitting down at a meal when jesus told them that one of them would soon be betray him. After he told them this they argued for hours over who it would be and no one knew who it was except jesus. That disciple that betrayed him was Judas.
  • When jesus was betrayed he gave himself forward to protect his people and keep them alive. He was nailed to the cross along with too other men in front of many people. He was later taken down and put in a coffin and put in a cave with a big stone bolder in front of it. But what no one was expecting was that Jesus some how came back to life and got out of this cave.
  • Catholics believe that one day Jesus will return and take all of the dead up to live with him and god in heaven.
