On their wedding day Eurydice went to the riverside to get some flowers but was bitten by a snake and died.
Orpheus wanted Eurydice back so he went into the Underworld to get her. Charon, the ferryman of the Styx, forgot to ask for the price of crossing. Cerberus stopped in his tracks and listen motionless until Orpheus passed.
Orpheus started playing the lyre to Hades and his queen. In the light of the ghastly torches Hades had tears streaming down his face. Hades said that if he left now Eurydice would follow him to the world above, but if he looked back Eurydice would stay here forever.
Orpheus goes back across the river and doesn't look back until he is almost out of the cave. He looks back and sees Eurydice she looks at him sadly. He goes to hug her. She says farewell and disappears.
He goes out of the cave and is sad so he only plays sad songs. The women of Trice angered by Dionysus killed him. Orpheus and Eurydice were together again.
