  • We want freedom! NOW!
  • In the year 1895, Cuba tried to revolt against Spanish rule for the second time in 30 years.
  • Word spread fast throughout the U.S about Cuba's defeat. Yellow journalists tried to make the Americans sympathize with the people  of Cuba.
  • Cuba Rose
  • But FALIED!
  • In the same year Maine, a U.S Navy ship, exploded and yellow journalists took advantage of the situation to blame it on Spain.
  • Uh...I think the rumors about Spain were exaggerated
  • You furnish the pictures and I'll furnish the war
  • After journalists blamed Spain for the explosion of Maine, Americans were outraged and demanded the U.S go to war with Spain.
  • WHAT IS THIS MADNESS? WE SHOULD GO TO WAR!
  • YEAH!
  • With all the outrage, President William McKinley declared war on Spain.
  • We're going to WAR!
  • In the end, Spain lost the war alongside its territories, Cuba gained its independence and the U.S gained Spain's many territories.
  • CUBA WON?
