The moderator in that case would be the distance the dominoes were apart, if they were too close they would slow, then eventually stop falling. If too far they would stop their movement.
The source of energy would be the original push of the first domino. Energy would be built up from the force of gravity pulling the domino downward. allowing it to knock over a domino with larger mass.
This would be a "controlled" reaction as you would be able to control the number of dominoes and therefore the amount of energy created. This is different than a bomb (uncontrolled) where the only variable is the mass of bomb.
nuclear bombs use enriched fuel to help increase the effectiveness of the reaction. With dominoes somehow increasing the amount of gravity(which is how energy builds up) would work in a similar way.
Thanks that's actually very interesting! ill have to tell my friends how similar dominoes are to nuclear bombs!
