Have you ever wondered how the Roman Empire collapsed?
The Roman Empire was one of the largest empires of the ancient world, but even Rome couldn't last forever.
The first reason that Rome fell is that the empire became too large to govern. The Roman army became too spread out.
Christianity was another threat to Rome. The religion taught pacifism, so Christians wouldn't fight to defend Rome. Christians were also more loyal to the church than Rome.
The empire was attacked by many barbarian groups, culminating in the sack of Rome by the Goths in 410 AD.
There wasn't enough money to support the army and government and rich citizens spent too much on luxury goods.
Finally, rich and powerful people became more interested in having fun than protecting the Roman Empire and many left Rome.
